Discord GIF limits
Custom emoji: 256 KB maximum, shown at up to 128×128 (animated emoji need a server, and Nitro to use them outside it). Stickers are 320×320 and at most 512 KB. Animated avatars need Nitro and a square image; Discord shows them as a circle. Chat uploads are limited to 10 MB without Nitro. See the size limits page for every platform.
Animated PFP tips
Avatars are tiny circles in the member list, so crop tight on a face, keep motion in the centre and avoid text near the corners — it will be cut off by the circle.

Why won’t Discord accept my emoji?
It is over 256 KB. Use the Discord emoji preset; GifCraft reduces colours, size and frames until it fits.
Do I need Nitro for an animated avatar?
Yes, animated profile pictures and banners are a Nitro feature. Anyone can upload animated emoji to a server they manage.
